I bought the car on May 29th, 2013. The strange howling sound started to appear the first week. As it was intermittent the technicians of VW dealership asked me to leave the car to them for 1 week to check. They told me they never heard of such problem before. Of course divorcing with my car for a week was impossible.
This forum is agreat place for information. By chance I happen to see it many posts (eg. www.drive2.ru/l/6748186/ www.drive2.ru/l/4055935/ www.drive2.ru/l/4614825/ www.drive2.ru/l/4155338/ www.drive2.ru/l/3820131/) and one brazilian forum (www.golfmk7.com.br/index.php/topic/76-barulho-ac/)
This forum posts helped me a lot to pinpoint the problem and convince the dealer. He asked me to remove the glove box on passenger side to check if the A/C unit was made by VALEO or DENSO so he can order the correct part. He send me photos of how to do it:

Did a bit of searching and also followed the instructions here www.forumgolf7.fr/forum/v…e8a62d556e281b8733f0cd0d4
Steps were carried out easily and I managed to see that my car had DENSO air condition:

Today was the big repair date. 1 hour of relaxed work and the old valve (5Q0 820 679 B) was replaced with new (5Q0 820 679 E)

Optically the 2 valves are the same. Hopefully the new one is better and solves the problem ;-)
Of course cost was covered by extended warranty. Freon for A/C had to be removed with special machine. The technician noticed that A/C had 450 grams of freon instead of the recommended 500 grams. So he also added 50 grams more

Hope it gets fixed, you shouldn't be having problems like that on such a new car.
Thank you! I already think that I had enough problems for a car of this price, of this name, of this age and of this quality
It looks like your dealer does the same thing that mine. They usually don't see any problem but if you get the tpi number from anywhere they try something (often useless) and ask you to looking for it. I hope it'll be usefull in your case :) Please, let us know if it helps.
So it's international behavior unfortunately…
Problem #1: (rattling in front interior roof lights panel: i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WD…rVsAAOSwu4BV1DQW/$_12.JPG) I fixed myself as they couldn't reproduce it
Problem #2 (rear wiper water loss) they started saying that it is OK not a real problem. I found the TPI (2031168/4) and they immediately fixed it. Problem persisted and I went for 2nd time to fix. Now it is OK
Problem #3 was the most serious (water leak from A/C see here www.reuters.com/article/2…olf-idUSL6N0H11ZW20130905, www.autobild.de/artikel/v…im-dauertest-4362680.html here forums.vwvortex.com/showt…9&viewfull=1#post86011549 here www.drive2.ru/l/2049367/#a39559343 and here www.drive2.ru/l/2068560/) This problem they realized immediately but I also gave them the TPI 2035134/1. Then they started saying "Ah, you are a well prepared person"…
Problem #4 (www.drive2.ru/l/7159292/) it was intermittent. I reported it to them but no TPI was found. I had to convince them that the problem existed so I grabbed many videos until I had the proper video. Only after seeing the video they were convinced to change it under warranty.
Problem #5 was the A/C howling sound. Also an intermittent problem. Now they said "Oh it's you again…What is the problem this time?" and asked me to keep the car for a week…This time again I had to present them a video (not my video) and after telling them that it is from the A/C they found TPI
So I had 5 problems and for 4 problems (#2 to #5) I presented 2 TPI and 2 videos. At least now when I tell them I have a problem they know I'm not crazy.
I understand that if the problem is not continuous they have to keep the car to check. But finding the TPI saves me time and words to convince them.
P.S. I also have a small 6th problem: driver's sun visor is rattling if it is lowered. If anyone has a TPI for this I'd be grateful
I fought something wrone with me. But note — you have the same problems and the same dealer. Das auto isn't Sony good now as it was before. I'm disappointed.
