Baby passenger in the back was annoyed by sun during driving. Mother asked about a solution and I (happy to add another accessory to Golf) decided to search for it.
In DRIVE2 there are 2 other members to have installed and recommend the official VW sun shade:
and
Having good reviews was nice. I also liked it as it is removable. Doing an internet search found that Volkswagen offers the sun shade at 167€ (price only for Germany): shops.volkswagen.com/de_D…%25BCr-golf-7-5g0064365-9
In Greece the same item (if ordered though the official VW dealer) costs an amazing 201,17€: www.kosmocar.gr/Accessori…hp?iso=el&pid=3730&e=2201
Tried to search for third-party solutions and found "Sonniboy"on ebay for 167€: www.ebay.de/itm/Sonniboy-…3A5G1&hash=item3ce3353794
Also found "Cool shades" from Austria (159€ without shipping): www.cool-shades.at/volksw…lf-mk7-5-turen-2012-.html
Bad thing about "Cool shades" is that the shade for rear heated glass is 2 parts. This means your vision would be impaired.
Finally "X-shades" from Slovakia: Cheap price but…do not offer shade for rear heated glass: x-shades.eu/en/product/Vo…en-Golf-7-HB5-2012-AKTROK
It was obvious that the option to order from the greek dealer was not really an option…
Also between original Volkswagen accessory and "Sonniboy", "X-shades" or "Cool shades" I prefer the original option…
Doing a little bit of research I finally decided to buy from the ebay shop of AVP Autoland (www.avp-shop.de/):
www.ebay.de/itm/Original-…teile&hash=item3cd2eab985
This store offered me the german price and delivery to home. So I saved both money (34.27€) and time (waiting time 30 days to come to Greece plus the time to go and pick it up from VW dealer)
Package came today with only 8 days waiting time:

For installation help I watched the video for the same item (part for rear heated glass only) for Golf 6:
Installation took 30 minutes to read instructions and finish. The results are here:

A couple of millimeters of gap is an acceptable error:

Satisfied father, satisfied mother and baby ;-)

Good work. But I think that price for these curtains so overestimate.
In Russia you may buy analogue curtains for 18 euro :)
Thank you. Although I saved some money buying it from Germany, the price is expensive indeed. I know about these prices. I don't believe that they would ship it to Greece though…It's probably a market issue. Just like some products have ridiculous prices in USA and the same product is much more expensive in EU. Comparing the price to film tinting, the price I paid is not that bad.
You are right.
Well, I hope that this purchase will serve long.
Thanks!

I wish those similar shades were offered through eBay for example with worldwide shipping…
Pretty expensive though)
Aftermarket window film tinting is more or less the same price no?
I`m not sure, I never done it.
