Remake of second trunk light 3D printed frame

Almost 4 months ago I installed a second trunk light. For this DIY I designed a plastic frame and a 3D printer.

The expereince of having a second light is very pleasing, therefore I suggest everyone to install one.
2 weeks ago nice sunny weather increased the air temperature. This led to the failure of my plastic frame design. It seems that I designed the upper part of the frame very thin (1.5 mm). The combination of small thickness and warm temperatures can be seen in the following photos. Probably the use of hot melt glue played an important role too in detachment.

Of course there was no turning back to trunk with only one light or ignoring this issue. Therefore I contacted a plexiglass professional and handed my design to him but this time with increased plastic thickness. This time I opted to use 3 mm thick plexiglass.

I was assured that plexiglass will not be affected by high tempreatures inside the cabin during summer. Giving various shapes to plexiglass requires heating to approximately 140 Celsius as I was told. Of course cabin tempreatures will never be even close

Regarding the plexiglass color I chose shiny black so as to reflect an OEM feeling. For gluing this time I used black silicone. As it is more elastic it may absorb some forces during extreme temperatures.

To cut the long story short the plexiglass frame is now installed and joy returned to my face
