Some weeks ago I noticed again the usual problem of the license plate frame: it cracked. It was approximately one year ago after the installation of my previous frame and again the same issue appeared.
Due to the lack of other important retrofits at the moment (I plan to install MIB2 infotainment in late April or early May with the help of two members of this forum) I decided to find a new frame and somehow mitigate the vibrations tha cause the cracking.
Choosing a frame
My first frame had the name of the dealership on it. Getting This was not an option for me anymore.
My next frame (fake carbon fiber) was nice and is still available in eBay but I had a sudden will to try something different.
I remembered that last year (apart from the "carbon fiber look" frame) I had another 2 options in mind:
* the original (000071800B 041) frame (see article here) also here and here
* the Wolfsburg edition frame (see article here)
This year I searched and found a third option again in eBay
My minimalistic eye made me choose the minimalistc original frame for which the price was also cheaper than the others (item+shipping=12.29€). Step one was completed!
Reducing the vibrations
In this step I believe there is no better option (both in terms of price and OEM looks) than the KEA 075 004 foam pad from Skoda. There are numerous users of this forum that have installed it and give positive feedback about it (see among others here, here, here).
Again in eBay a seller with a nice price (item+shipping=4.28€) was found.
The package came and consists of 2 foam pads. I used only one:

Nothing complicated here. Clean, degrease, stick, screw
The frame plastic is of good quality. The frame holes did not suit my existing screw holes. As I did not want to make additional holes to my bumper I made 2 extra holes in the new frame.

Put three vertical stripes (almost plate high) — two close to the edges (abt 1 cm inside), one in the middle. One part to plate, other to bumper. Handles very good, no problems at all.

No do not bother to make better photos. I got the idea. Do you have the link to the "super sticky velcro" from AliExpress?
Frame with pad is OK. I went further — put my number plates on super sticky velcro from aliexprss. No borders at all. And also no problems.
Do you have photo? I would like to see the result :-)
