The Pikey R600 mod consists of the following:
— remove snow grate from airbox
— install GTE blanking plate on the back of the air inlet: (part number 5Q0129849)
— open up the drivers side of the front inlet
— replace stock filter by a sporty one
— install an optimized turbo elbow.
Doing these mods will be the much cheaper, ghetto version of the expensive VW Racing R600 intake, while still looking mostly stock. I've done all of these mods, except for the turbo elbow, since there is none available for the 1.5TSI (EA211EVO) engine.

Did you make a comparison with VW Racing one? How much air does this option give you?
I haven't made any comparison. The VW Racing one doesn't fit my engine model. But this is a common mod for MQB platform cars, which seems to increase the airflow a bit.

As per info on Jeff's site, such an intake quite close to R600 from performance POV mygolfmk7.com/best-mk7-gti-air-intake/
I did the same for Skoda Superb 😄
