Yes I love it, yes I like it. But I also have to admit and point out the weaknesses of my car.
Some of them are more important to me and some are less important. By no means these weaknesses break the deal. For sure I do not agree with the motto "Das Auto". Let me explain:
-------------
Car body
-------------
1) Water from the air condition was flowing underneath the carpet. On the very hot and humid summer days you cannot switch off the A/C. Using the A/C produces (as later found out) approximately 50-100 ml of water in 10 minutes of A/C operation. This means that during a trip of 2 hours between 600 and 1200 grams of water were soaking the carpet. I later discovered that the carpet is 4-5cm thick and above the carpet we have the protective floor mats thus evaporation was minimal. So more and more water was accumulating. A slight smell of mold started to appear.
Problem was well known (www.reuters.com/article/2…olf-idUSL6N0H11ZW20130905, www.autobild.de/artikel/v…im-dauertest-4362680.html here forums.vwvortex.com/showt…9&viewfull=1#post86011549 here www.drive2.ru/l/2049367/#a39559343 and here www.drive2.ru/l/2068560/). The dealer fixed the problem under TPI 2035134/1 without removing the carpet. Here you can see the water flow rate after the issue was fixed:

The thick carpet finally dried up 3 months after fixing the problem…
2) Yesterday the dealer fixed for free another problem: the turn signal lever was not always returning to its initial position after returning the steering wheel.Dealer couldn't recognize the problem so I had to record a video to convince him that the problem really existed. The problem is affecting other Golf owners also (see here: www.golf7freunde.de/index…pringt-nicht-zur%C3%BCck/ and here: www.vwgolfcommunity.com/v…Anomalia-frecce-di-svolta). I noticed that the problem appears when the temperature of the cabin is quite high (more than 25 degrees (hot cabin is also mentioned as source of the problem in this forum www.golf7gti.com/topic.php?p=79657#real79657)
3) Creaking sounds on very hot days are coming from everywhere. On days with temperature less than 15 degrees the car gets almost completely silent.
4) The velvet fabric at the door seal when wet (in rainy days) is making the car sound like a wooden ship.
5) Low frequency sounds are heard when the car gets in or out of the garage (different level of front and rear wheels). It can be fixed under TPI 2034188/5. Intensity of the sounds is not big so I'll wait until one day I replace all my absorbers.
6) I did some DIY to 99% eliminate the noise coming from the plastic parts at roof (where the light switches and the glass compartment are placed). I had to buy felt tape (www.ebay.com/itm/27146069…geName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) and some tools (www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html…nvenient&_id=111431527376) to do the job. Same problem and same cure here: www.drive2.ru/l/4044706/
7) After washing the car water remains a) where the side mirrors connect to the body, b) where the door handles connect to the body and c) somewhere where the tailgate touches the body. In hot days after you wash and dry the car and leave, water dribbles on the paint, dries there and leave white marks (water salts) on the paint. Solution is to blow compressed air to the critical points to remove all water stored there.
8) Water was also dribbling from the rear window nozzle with no reason (see: www.drive2.ru/l/4589620/). It was fixed under TPI 2031168/4 by the dealer. Problem came back and was fixed for second time by the dealer
9) Our trunk has 2 levels to place its floor. If you place the floor in the lower level you get 380 liters of space. If you place it on the upper level then you have less than 380 liters. To protect the fabric of the trunk a rubber floor is offered as an accessory (reference: 5G0 061 160). The bad is that it only fits the trunk when the floor is at the upper level. If you want to take advantage of the whole 380 liters you cannot use the rubber floor. In this case you have to get a 3rd party rubber floor from ebay (see here: www.forumgolf7.fr/forum/v…php?f=28&t=1666&start=200 and here: www.ebay.fr/itm/VOLKSWAGE…&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT).
10) Floor mats do not cover the carpet area below the brake pedal. Many times my shoe is rubbing the carpet there. I'm afraid a hole may appear there one day. Other drivers also have the same problem: www.golfmk7.com/forums/sh….php?p=10389&postcount=30
11) Brakes lock on if maneuvering back and forward in tight spaces. The dealer performed sofware upgrade on car computer for free (service campaign 45D4 I think). 99% of the problem is now fixed.
12) I am curious to know why the top of the rear doors does not have the same soft material as the front doors. Now the front doors have premium feeling but the rear doors have a "Skoda" feeling
13) During sunny days reflections from the infotainment screen and the VW badge at the center of the steering wheel are entering the driver's eyes
-----------------
Infotainment
-----------------
1) The fonts of the infotainment screen do not support some greek letters. Instead of letters small rectangles are displayed (This is also happening with some chinese letters: www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473)
2) Many mobile phone contact pictures cannot be displayed. I was lucky and the 4 favorite contacts I had were correctly displayed. Now that I changed mobile phone the same pictures do not appear. It probably has to do with the phone ROM but it is annoying.
3) The resolution of the infotainment screen. It is unacceptable for "Das Auto" to offer low resolution screen when even mobile phones priced less than 100€ offer resolution higher than this (example: www.golfmk7.com/forums/sh…php?p=10178&postcount=347)
4) the MP3 covers have to have special dimensions (up to 500x500 pixels) and size (less than 200KB) to appear. At the user manual no information was given. I had to try many times and find the solution
